  • Dennis Wood

    FOUNDER & CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

    Dennis Wood holds deep experience in both venture capital, and as a CEO/ operator. From leading a successful turnaround as a venture-backed CEO at chargeback.com to serving as head of people, talent and culture at Fusion-io (acquired by SanDisk) and MaritzCX, Dennis brings a rare depth and breadth of experience, helping companies build winning organizations.

    At Chargeback.com Dennis led a stunning turnaround for the business, growing revenues by over 11X and expanding the company’s margins by 72%. As head of HR at Fusion-io, he led expansion efforts to increase employee base by 375% and growth into ten countries over a two-year period. During his tenure at MaritzCX, he successfully oversaw the people integration of the company which merged a large, mature services organization with an earlier-stage software firm, growing overnight from 150 to 2200 employees.

    Dennis also brings 12 years of experience in venture capital serving with Signal Peak Ventures (formerly vSpring Capital) and more recently with Mercato Partners. He brings particularly deep expertise in talent assessment and acquisition, structuring compensation, stock options, benefits, performance management, and creating meaningful enculturation strategies. He received his master’s in business administration from Brigham Young University, and his BS in Business Management, cum laude, from Walden University.

  • John Dalton

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    John Dalton, founder of Dalton Capital, Inc., has focused his education and work on operating and growing small businesses. John graduated from the Harvard Business School with an MBA, where he focused on general management, finance and operations. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California.

    From 2000-2016, John led three companies in the document shredding, storage and recycling industries. John’s leadership resulted in the sale of Certified Document Destruction at the highest ever industry multiple in 2005 to Cintas Corporation, and the sale of Certified Recycling to Tricor Pacific, a private equity firm, in 2016.

    During his career of hands-on operations and growing small companies, John has gained extensive experience in numerous business areas including:

    • Valuing, negotiating and integrating over 20 acquisitions in multiple industries

    • Implementing rigorous process to ensure successful mergers and acquisitions, and streamlining operations

    • Maximizing leadership and accountability in multiple organizational teams

    • Leading business development and operational teams, focusing them on profitable growth initiatives to achieve company values and strategy.

    Before attending the Harvard Business School, John worked for CSC Index, a management consulting firm, where he managed leadership, strategy, and operations projects in the energy, retail, high tech, and health care industries.

  • Derek Wood

    COFOUNDER & CHEIF MARKETING OFFICER

    As chief marketing officer Derek oversees the firm’s marketing and sales operations, growth initiatives, and strategy. Derek brings deep technical sales and marketing expertise. He has helped companies grow over 300% CAGR.

    Derek brings 5 years of experience as CMO in the B2B SaaS space. He is an expert marketer, creating lead-generation systems that produce quality opportunities for sales teams and result in exponential revenue growth. He also helps companies find the right KPIs and put the right systems in place to capture critical data in order to set effective goals and measure growth.

    Derek graduated with a degree in information systems and a minor in business management. He was a member of his university’s data science club. He is currently a student in the University of Utah’s business master’s program.
