ABOUT DENNIS WOOD
Dennis Wood is the founder of BoardLevel.io, a strategic advisory practice focused on helping high-growth companies and their leaders navigate the complex transition from fast to large. With more than two decades of experience spanning executive recruiting, venture capital, and operational leadership, Dennis brings a rare blend of strategic insight and roll-up-your-sleeves execution.
He has served as an in-house value-add partner for two venture capital firms—vSpring Capital (now Signal Peak Ventures) and Mercato Partners—where he led due diligence on over 200 companies and advised more than 100 portfolio companies on scaling leadership, talent systems, and organizational strategy. As a former CEO of a venture-backed company, Dennis has firsthand experience leading turnarounds and unlocking growth under pressure.
His operational credentials include serving as Head of People at Fusion-io, leading it’s international expansion and preparing for its IPO, and leading pre and post-merger people integration at MaritzCX after its acquisition of Allegiance Software. He has personally placed over 250 executives, designed compensation systems for pre- and post-exit companies, and built frameworks for leadership assessment, stock option strategy, and cultural integration.
Dennis holds an MBA from Brigham Young University and a BS in Business Management, cum laude, from Walden University.
